Having had all Amperex ECC88 Bugle Boys, 6922, and 7308
I have used all these tubes and with out a doubt the Amprex 7308 sounds better to me!
Just more liquid with lots of air!
For the budget minded I would suggest Amperex Orange Globes, Bugle Boys
Matsushita 6dj8 or Matsushita 7dj8
Siemens 7308 steel pin is also a nice tube but is now getting a bit more expensive
Still my favorites are Amperex 7308's
