This kept sound problems (microphonics) to a bare minimum. Allen used re-branded 12AU7 organ grade ultra-low noise tubes. Once approved for use, the tube tip was marked as was the practice of all low noise tubes then. By the mid-1960s Allen was pretty much out of the analog tone cabinet business. They got the best tubes from manufacture tube supplier got their primary contract (usually reviewed annually). They purchased so many 12AU7 tubes and were so picky regarding microphonics that for a time they had their own tube designation, such as Allen, Baldwin, Conn Hammond, Philips Electrohome all produced ultra-low noise non-microphonic organ grade tube production (from 1957 - 1966) Most tubes never yet used, some were burned in with low 20 to 50 hours all are high range NOS strong tested vintage tubes!
