Very rare pair of JBL Decade 16, L16 bookshelf speakers, Made in the USA from 1974 - 1976, One the rarest, If not the rarest Model of the L series of JBL speakers, There are almost no comparable listings of past sales for these and even Specs and info are sparse and a little difficult to find Speakers are working and sounding like they should, The cabinets and grills are in great condition with no significant issues in need of mentioning Unfortunately 1 Tweeter has had to have a small repair done to the cone by an actual speaker specialist (see pics), One of the best speaker "magicians" in the greater Ottawa area, You cannot not hear any audible difference between the original and the repaired tweeter both in output level and sound signature, The asking price reflects this small issue, Replacement tweeters are available in the $100 range if the new owner so chooses Other then that the speakers have had new foams installed and are otherwise all original Amazing sounding speakers, An absolute treat to listen to, Great, Exceptionally deep, Quick and impactful bass for an 8" driver and butter smooth none fatiguing midrange and high end Description from the net : 1975 JBL Decade L16 bookshelf speakers. Standing at almost 20 inches tall with a width of 10.6 inches and a depth of 10.2 inches with an 8 inch driver and 2 inch tweeter, These are some of the most magnificent sounding speakers JBL ever produced. Made from 1974-1976, They were manufactured in smaller numbers than their counterparts The Woofer adopts a 1.1kg Alnico V magnet with 20cm(8") aperture with 2 way stream compositions (crossover) and the tweeter is a cone type which carries a 15,000 gauss magnetic circuit.
