Horn Conversion - Crisp and Crystal Clear Detail Introduction
Do you like the clear as a bell clarity of a horn over a soft or hard dome tweeter? I may just have the modification that will bring more joy to your ears ... I take the OEM tweeters/housings, remove the 35-40watt magnet/diaphragm assemblies from the housings, machine the centers out, take a Cerwin Vega 100db/80watt Replacement horn from Simply Speakers, machine the mounting flange round to mate perfectly with the tweeter housing, plastic weld the horn body to the original tweeter housing then machine the surfaces perfectly flat and smooth so they look like a factory piece. I have installed Brushed aluminum trim rings on some which again add to the appearance and to the cost to convert them a little. The OEM tweeter crossovers generally reduce the output of the horns a bit, but, I have never ended up with a converted set whose horn sound Unbalanced with the woofers. I price them a few ways, either taking the still working OEM magnets/diaphragms on trade or straight up conversions. You can ship the assemblies to me I can do the conversions, pack the new assemblies safely and ship them back to you.
* This modification can be done to just about any tweeter housing that has the ability to have approx 2.75 inch round hole machined out of it. Different shaped and size horns could be used depending on the result intended end result. I have machined rectangular sections out of the cabinet face to allow the new horn housings to fit flat like a factory fit.
* If you have an idea slightly different, lets talk about it.
* I can design an attenuation control into the tweeter crossover if by slim chance the output of the horn does not compliment the output of the other drivers.
* They can be packed safely for shipping just about anywhere as I have safely packed and shipped gear as far away as BC in Canada and down as far as Florida and across as far as Ohio in the states.
* I have been servicing other peoples speakers and equipment for over 25yrs, I inspect and test all my own equipment and drivers before listing them, If they need service work I try to ensure everything is working the way it is supposed to before it is sold to anyone.
* If I replace surrounds, I warranty them for 36months - where else can you get warranty on repairs?
* If the crossovers need new Capacitors, I replace them.
* (1) - If the ad is not marked SOLD it is still available. If you click the generic buttons to ask if it is still available I will send you here. Ask your questions and I will answer them as promptly as possible.
* (2) - Messages come to a computer and not cel-phone, so extend a bit of patience if I dont' respond right away.
* (3). - I don't hold things for people who say they are coming to get it based on their word, so, don't get all bent out of shape when I sell something that YOU claim you are coming for, but, are not willing to send me a small deposit to show me you are serious. There are too many 'Kijijites' out there who make offers and claim they are coming 'Right Out' ,then climb back into the woodwork and disappear. Put your money where your mouth is. If you are serious about something and want me to hold it for you for a week or less then send me a deposit. If it is not like I claim it to be when you come to see it then I will refund your deposit.
* (4). - Please remember that some brand new or seldom used older gear that has been sitting may work for years without troubles, or, it also may develop small troubles simply from lack of use. There is no warranty that comes with my gear no matter the condition unless I state it clearly in the ad. That being said if a piece of gear develops some troubles, give me a call and let me see if I can help you out. I like to think that I am a reasonable person within reason.
* (5).- There is no cure for misuse and abuse or just plainly being a 'Dumbass'. If you are unsure about how something wires up or works Ask Questions!! There is nothing more frustrating that talking with someone who was too proud to ask for assistance, but, instead wires up something wrong, burns or blows it up then attempts to blame their own mistakes on someone else.
