Dell PowerEdge R630 Server - 16 cores, 32 threads, 128GB RAM Introduction

This 1U Server is perfect for a TrueNAS or Proxmox build! I’m currently using it as my primary NAS and app server, running TrueNAS SCALE and it’s been rock solid for years. The only reason I am selling is that I am upgrading to a Ryzen 5950x based tower server. Price for the server itself is a mostly firm $600, but I’m willing to negotiate on the optional extras below. I can do a fresh install of TrueNAS or any other OS, and I’m happy to answer any other questions you might have. Specs: - 2x Intel Xeon E5 2620 v4 CPUs - 8 Cores, 16 Threads each, 2.1Ghz base clock - 8x 16GB Samsung DDR4 2133mhz RDIMMs - 128GB total memory - Dell HBA330 Controller (LSI SAS3008 based, with IT mode firmware) - 8x 2.5” SATA/SAS Drive Bays connected to the above controller. - 4x Intel i350 Gigabit Ethernet Ports - 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slot (single slot cards only, full height cards such as a 4xM.2 carrier are possible with modifications) - 1x PCIe 3.0x16 Slot (half height, only usable if the above slot is also filled with a half-height card) - 1x PCIe 3.0 x8 Slot (single slot, half height) - Dell iDrac 8 Controller with dedicated management port - 2x Redundant Hot Swappable 750w 80 Plus Platinum PSUs with power cables. - 2x Kingston A400 120GB boot SSDs. One is in the disk slot, the other is in a cut down case near the power supplies (see 4th and last picture). Both can be easily swapped for nearly any SATA SSD. Optional Extras: - 10x 1TB Seagate Constellation.2 2.5” SATA HDDs - $200 obo 8 of these have been my primary data drives for the last few years. The other two were cold spares. I swapped out one of the active drives with a spare just under a year ago, when TrueNAS reported errors, but the drive subsequently passed a extended smart test, so I’m including it here anyway. The second cold spare is unused aside from some initial burn-in testing. I bought them brand new from a liquidator, and as such they unfortunately did not come with a warranty, but they are enterprise grade drives with plenty of life left in them. Current power on hours at the time of writing is ~17690 hours, or 2.019 years. Original warranty would have been 5 years, and MTBF is 1.4 million hours. You can easily find a spec sheet from seagate on google. I recently put 3.5” drives in my new server, so these are now free and clear to go to a new home. - Asus Hyper M.2 PCIe 3.0 Carrier card - $50 obo With this you can add up to four PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSDs! I had to remove the metal bracket on one of the PCIe risers to make this fit, and that bracket will be included with the base server regardless. - Nvidia Quadro P600 GPU - $50 obo A great transcoding card, popular for use with plex or jellyfin
