Original owner, now a senior, parting with this nice, quality solid state tape recorder that was the ideal intercontinental means of extended messaging and voice & live music recordings for consumers and small business professionals in the pre-internet and pre-fax tx era. The Cipher VI, made in Japan, was the top of its line: a quarter-track stereo recording and playback system with twin VU meters, a balanced capstan flywheel combined with a pure idler drive (no belts!), tape lifter during fast forward and rewind, index counter and a pause control. Two detachable extended-range speakers and a matched pair of dynamic cabled microphones included, stored otherwise in the small compartments that are built in to the two speaker boxes respectively.
Inputs: 2 x microphone. 2 x line (high-level) / Speaker(s): two detachable extended range speakers / Dimensions: closed 16 x 16 x 11″ (406.5 x 406.5 x 279.5 mm) / quarter-track stereo.
