A red Japanese haori worn over kimono in Japan, looks like silk Introduction
If the ad is up it is available, we will not ship it and we are not looking to trade at this time.
This another haori from Japan that we purchased while there. It has a very nice floral pattern and to us, it feels and looks like silk. There is no visible damage that we can see and we looked carefully. It measures about 26 inches across at the shoulders from seam to seam, and it is about 31 inches long. In Japan these are worn over kimono however, younger people wear them as jackets with jeans for example nowadays. There are plenty of photos and lots of information online about these and how they are used today. Because of the short sleeves it was not made for single women meaning the haori or kimono with very long sleeves are worn by single women, that's why so many can be seen on "coming of age day" in Japan, when ladies reach legal age which is 20. There is no staining on the lining or on the hoary itself so if it was worn it was well cared for. We are open to offers.
